HOW TO ENTER SERVICE MODE TO SONY KV-SERIES TVs

KV-G14M1_KVG14MD1_KVG14P1_KVG14P11_KVG14Q1_KVG14S1 MODELS

Entering into service mode.

When the unit in the standby mode, Press [display] [5] [vol+] [power] buttons on the remote handset in sequence.  This operation puts the set into service mode.
In this service mode display, [00] is item number, [RGB] is the item name, [08] is the item data, [SERVICE] shows the service mode, [0000] & [1000] are binary data, [50] shows [PAL,SECAM] (60 for NTSC].
* Put the TV into service mode.
** Press [1] UP and [4] DN, to select an item for adjustment.
*** Press [3] UP and [6] DN, to raise or lower the data value of the selected item.
**** Press [Muting] button, and it will indicate [WRITE] on the screen.
***** Press [0] button to write new value into memory.

Service Mode Keys.

[1],[4] - Select adjustment mode.
[3],[6] - raise or lower the data value.
[Muting] - Write.
[0] - Execute writing.
[7],[0] - All the data becomes the values in the memory.
[8],[0] - All user control goes to the standard state.
[5],[0] - Service data initilisation (Used sparingly).
[2],[0] - Write 50Hz adjustment data to 60Hz or vice versa.

Service Mode Adjustments. [See the service mode adjustment for VERTICAL SHIFT] as an example.

* In the service mode, slelct [08] V-SHIFT, with [1] and [4] buttons.
** Raise or lower the data value using [3] and [6] buttons. Keep a look at the picture shirt during all adjustments.
*** Select the optimum state. [default value for PAL reception is "0F".
**** Write with [muting] button. [The SERVICE display will change to WRITE]
***** Execute writing with [0] button. [The WRITE display will change to RED color, while executing, and changes back to SERVICE.
Use the same method for all item adjustments. During the write operation, the data for all items are written into memory together.

Adjustment that have to be done after memory IC replacement.

* Enter the service mode.
** Press [5],[0] - buttons (data initilize) on the remote handset.  Next press [2] and [0] (Data copy) to initilize the data.
*** Call each item number and check if the respective screen shows the normal picture. In case where items are not well adjusted, rectify the item with fine adjustment. Write the data for each item number by pressing [MUTING] + [0].
**** Select item numbers "2B" (OP0) and "2c" (OP1) and "2c" (OP1) for Mono nd "3F" (OP0) and "40" (OP1) for stereo; and respectively set the bit per model with remote handset buttons [3] and [6].
***** Press [8] and [0] (Test Normal) to return to data that was set on shipment from factory. This will also cancel the service mode.
