HOW TO ENTER SERVICE MODE TO PHILIPS [21PV385 /01 /07 /39 / 58]

The optical sensor system are used for tape start and end sensor on this equipment. 

TO ENTER SERVICE MODE

1. Cover start sensor [Q202], and end sensor [Q201] with insulation tape or enter service mode to activate Sensor Inhibitation automaticlly.
2. Turn ON the Power with Main Power on the front panel of the unit.
3. Press [Standby/On],2,7,1 & Mute buttons on the remote control unit in that order, within Five seconds. When entering service mode "4" will appear display at corners of the screen.
4. During service mode, electrical adjustment mode can be selected by remote control key.

• Menu Key => Picture adjustment mode.
• Volume Dn key => SECAM black level adjustment mode.
• [0] key => C-Trap adjustment mode.
• [1] key => DSPC adjustment mode.
• ]2] key => H adjustment mode.
• [3] key => Head switching point adjustment [Auto adjustment]
• [4] key => auto record mode.
• [5] key => head switchin point adjusment [manual adjustment]
• [6]&[7] keys not used.
• [8] key => H-Shift adjustment mode.
• [9] key => V size/V shift adjustment.

The deck mechanism assembly is mounted on the main CBA directly and SW211 (record saefty switch]) is mounted on the main CBA.  When deck mechanism assembly is removed, from the main CBA due ot servicing this swich cannot be operated properly.

• To eject tape, press the Stop/Eject button on the unit. 
• When you want to record during service mode, press the record button, while depressing [SW211] on the main CBA.
