HOW TO PROGRAM A GE UNIVERSAL REMOTE CONTROL

DIRECT CODE ENTRY METHOD

1. Turn ON the device [VCR/TV/DVD/SAT RECEIVER] etc:- you want to program.
2. Press and Hold the "Code Search" or "Setup" button on the remote control, until the indicator light turns ON, and release the button.
3. Press and Release the button for the device you are programming [TV/DVD/VCR/SAT] etc:-  For AUX, press "AUX" button, then the device button you are assigning to AUX.  The indicator light will blink and remain lit.
4. Enter the three of four digit code for your device, using the number buttons.  After your code is entered, the indicator light will turn OFF.
5. Aim the remote to the device you want to control and press the "Power" button.  Your device should turn OFF.  If your device does not respond to the first code listed in the document, repeat the above steps with second code.  If the device respond to other functions like Volume UP/DN, program UP/DN, no further programming is required.

CODE SEARCH METHOD

• Turn ON the equipment you wish to program.
• Press and Hold "Code Search" or "Setup" button on the remote control, until the light turns ON; and then release the button.
• Press and release the button for the device [VCR/DVD/TVV] etc:-.  The indicator light will blink once and remain lit. For AUX, press "AUX", then the device button you are assigning to AUX.
• Press and Release the "Power" button, until your device turns "OFF".  Wait at least 2 seconds between each time you press the "Power" button. ( Sometimes, you may have to press the Power button, up to 250 times.  For each press, a setup code will be send from the remote control to the device.  If one send do not match, for an other press an other code will be send.  In most universal remotes, will have more than 250 codes will be pre-programmed in its memory.  That is why, you have to press Power button this much times, to check each code.)
• When your device turns "OFF", press "Enter Button" on the remote control to save the matched code. Check other functions to see if the code is correct. 

THE SLEEP FEATURE

Some GE remote controls will have handy 'Sleep" feature, enable you to turn of the TV, after pre programmed time interval of 1 to 99 minutes.  [RM 94902 / RM 94904 / RM 94905] models have this feature. To use this feature:

1.   Press and Hold the "Sleep" button until the indicator light turns ON.
2. Enter the time interval in minutes, using the numerical key pad. [For minutes 1 to 9, press [0] before the actual number].
3. Leave the remote control aimed at the TV set.
4. The TV will turn OFf after the set time has entered.  A stop signal will be transmitted from the remote to TV.  That is why, the remote should place against TV to activate this function. 
5. To turn OFF the sleep feature, Press and Hold 'Sleep' button, until the indicator light blinks or press the "Power" button to turn OFF the TV.
