PANASONIC PT47WXD63 PT53TWD63 PT56TWD63 SERVICE MODE ADJUSTMENTS



TO ENTER SERVICE MODE

  1. Press the "Menu" button on the remote control to access the service Menu.
  2. Use [Ch Up / Ch Dn] & [Vol Left / Vol Right] button to highlight the "Setup" menu.
  3. Press 'OK" button to enter the 'Setup Mode'.
  4. Press [Vol Right / Vol Left] button to access the 'Program Channel' function.
  5. Use [Volume Right] button to change to 'Cable' mode.
  6. Press "Menu" button Twice to Exit the 'Setup Menu'.
  7. Press [Ch Up / Ch Dn] & [Vol Left / Vol Right] until the 'Timer' function is highlighted.
  8. Press the"OK" button to access 'Timer Settings'.
  9. Press [Ch Up / Ch Dn]  to access the 'Sleep timer' adjustment.
  10. Use [Vol Left / Vol Right] button to adjust the 'Sleep Timer' to 30 minutes or higher.
  11. Press the "Menu Action" button as many times as needed to Exit the 'Timer Mode.
  12. Tune the set to 'Channel 124'.
  13. Using the 'Front Control Panel' of the TV, Press & Hold the [Volume Dn] button, until 'CHK' is displayed in Red in the upper left hand corner of the screen.
  14. Select an active channel or video source.
TO TOGGLE BETWEEN AGING AND SERVICE MODES

 While "CHK" is displayed on the left top corner of the CRT,  pressing the "OK & Volume Right" buttons on the TV simultaneously will toggle between the modes.  Red 'CHK' is for Service Mode, and Yellow 'CHK' is for aging.
  • Press 'Power' button on the remote control to display the service adjustment menu.  Select the adjustments by pressing [Ch Up / Ch Dn] or [Vol Left / Vol Right] buttons on the remote control and "OK" to enter the adjustment.



EEPROM Copy Jig

  • This PTV has a feature that allows the copy of the convergence EEPROM data from one PTV to an other by connecting a jig to the PTV set.  The jig can also be used to back up data before making adjustments.  A jig part number [TXFJIG01SER], is avilable through Matushita / Panasonic Services.
PREPARATION
  • To connect the jig, remove the lower back cover, and insert the jig connector into connector [A10] located on 'A' board.
PROCEDURE TO COPY DATA
  • Enter the 'Service Mode' and display the 'Service Menu'.
  • Using Ch Up / Ch Dn & Volume Up / Volume Dn, slect 'AREA' DAC, and then press OK on the remote control to enter.  Press [Volume Left or Right] to select one of the following options, and then press "OK".
  1. Select 'ALL' to copy all main EEPROM data.
  2. Select 'ADJ' to copy only  adjustment data.
  3. Select 'FIX' to copy only fix data.
  • To copy data from main EEPROM to the jig, select "IN --> EX" DAC and press "OK".
  • To copy data from jig to the main EEPROM, select "EX --> IN" DAC and press "OK" button on the remote control.
PROCEDURE TO COPY CONVERGENCE
  • Enter the 'Service Mode' and display the Service Menu.
  • Select 'FINE' DAC and press "OK" on the remote control.
  • Press the "8" key on the remote control.
  • Select "FROM" and then press  "OK" on the remote control. {#} INT to copy data from internal EEPROM to jig. {#} EXT to copy from jig to internal EEPROM.
  • Select an option from the 'Menu' with the "CH" keys and confirm with "OK".
  • DEFAULT: Default Factory Preset.
  • CURRENT: To copy the current  {receiver data or jig data} convergence adjustments to memory.
  • NOT USE:  To back-up Data.
  • ALL:  To copy all data.  #  The stated "Default factory preset" contains the "Factory Data".  Use this option when Data is lost or when adjustment is completely lost.
  • Select destination to copy {INT / EXT} and confirm with "OK".
  • Once an option is selected the copy process begins.  
  • Once finished, the receiver shuts down for a moment to reinitialize. 
  • Remove jig from connector [A10]
