SEMP TCl 50P715. 55P715, 65P715 and 75P715 – how to enter the service mode, software update, power board schematic

ACCESSING THE FACTORY MENU

Whenever in this manual you request to access the factory menu, the following procedure must be performed:

- Turn on the device;

- On the remote control, press the SETUP key (key) (1);

- Select “Image” option (1);

- Scroll down the options until you find “Advanced Settings” (2) and select;

- Select “Brightness Adjustment” (3);

- Keep the cursor on the “Contrast” option (4)

- On the remote control press the number sequence 9735

Note: Since the original remote control for this model does not have the numeric keys to enter this code, a control of another model of the same brand must be used, in the case of “TCL”, to be able to access the menu of factory.

- Once control is obtained and the sequence is entered, the factory menu will be available.



CHECKING THE SOFTWARE VERSION.

Entering the Factory Menu we can see the version of the software in use:

Main SW update via the User Menu.

- Save the file to the root of a USB device by renaming it as “update.img”.

- With the device disconnected from the mains, connect the USB device, with the installation software, on the USB port.

- Press the TV's Power key and, keeping it pressed, connect the TV to the mains.

- The update will start. After approximately 7 minutes the TV will automatically restart

PROJECT ID update

(If panel information is wrong)

If the screen is completely dark due to the difference in panel x installed software, press 062598 + MENU + xxx (xxx: Panel ID).

In this part, put a note: If the panel used is not included in this list, contact the assistance department technique to obtain the correct ID


After the update, the TV will enter TV mode and the channel that was previously selected.

INTERNET UPDATE

Main Processor

During the update process via the internet, connection failures and even power outages can occur. In these cases the behavior of the device is as follows:

Loss of Internet connection - For download, inform the user and exits the process. Does not compromise the functioning of the TV - Smoothly. The update will continue

Power outage - For download. Does not compromise the functioning of the TV - For the update. Does not compromise the functioning of the TV

PANEL TEST MODE (WARM UP)

Recommended for panel analysis (spots, dots, scratches, etc.).

Enter the Factory Menu as indicated before, choose the option “9-Sita P mode” and turn it on Turn off the TV by the Power key and turn it on again.

Enter the Factory menu again and then select the warm up option. A sequence of screens in different colors where you can check in more detail, possible panel failures.

To EXIT the warm up mode, press the POWER key on the device as the remote control functions will be disabled and if the device is just disconnected from the network, the “warm up” mode will return when is connected to the network again.


Verification of Software Keys

-After turning on the TV with the Sita P mode option on, we will see a frame on the bottom left of the screen with The informations:

In it we can see again the software version, the project ID and the activation keys of the different resources of product:


TENSION TABLE AND SOFTWARE UPDATE

MID: MAC & DID & HDCP & WIDI & WideVine & MGK

MAC (Mac Address) aWithout recording this key, it is not possible to connect to the internet network via ethernet (LAN);

DID: Project identification, already included in the product software,

HDCP without recording this key, high definition images via wireless will not be reproduced;

WIDI without recording this key, image mirroring via wireless will not be reproduced;

Widevine without recording this key, content from YOUTUBE and other sites will not be played;

MGK without recording this key, we will not have access to Netflix content.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If some of the keys are not recorded, the information “NULL” will appear in replace the respective key on that line.  In this case, SEMP TCL support should be contacted for instructions on the recording.

USE TIME INFORMATION

In this model we can check the time of use of the product. Perform the same procedures to enter the Factory Menu, but instead of using the password 9735, enter the code 6425 to enter the Service Menu. In this Menu can be seen on the 9th line the operating time of the device:

Samsung LED TV - UN40H5100AG – how to upgrade the software, main board connector voltages, how to enter the service mode, adjutments

 

Samsung Chassis U8KB: Model  UN40H5100AG main board connector voltages, software upgrade, white balance adjustments.  Screen Size (Diagonal)- 40 inches: LCD Panel-FHD 60 Hz

Service Adjustment

You must perform Calibration in the Lattice Pattern before adjusting the White Balance.

Color Calibration:  Adjust Specification

Source- Setting Mode- Pattern -Use Equipment

HDMI 1280 x 720@60 Hz Pattern #24 (Chess Pattern) CA210 & Master MSPG925 Generator

Use other equipment only after comparing the result with that of the Master equipment.

Method of Color Calibration (AV)

1. Apply the NTSC Lattice (N0. 3) pattern signal to the AV IN 1 port.

2. Press the Source key to switch to “AV1” mode.

3. Enter Service mode.

4. Select the “ADC” menu.

5. Select the “AV Calibration” menu.

6. In “AV Calibration Off” status, press the “► ” key to perform Calibration.

7. When Calibration is complete, it returns to the high-level menu.

8. You can see the change of the “AV Calibration” status from Failure to Success.

Method of Color Calibration (Component)

1. Apply the 720p Lattice (N0. 6) pattern signal to the Component IN 1 port.

2. Press the Source key to switch to “Component1” mode.

3. Enter Service mode.

4. Select the “ADC” menu.

5. Select the “Comp Calibration” menu.

6. In “Comp Calibration Off” status, press the “ ►” key to perform Calibration.

7. When Calibration is complete, it returns to the high-level menu.

8. You can see the change of the “Comp Calibration” status from Failure to Success.

Method of Color Calibration (PC)

1. Apply the VESA XGA Lattice (N0. 21) pattern signal to the PC IN port.

2. Press the Source key to switch to “PC” mode.

3. Enter Service mode.

4. Select the “ADC” menu.

5. Select the “PC Calibration” menu.

6. In “PC Calibration Off” status, press the “ ►” key to perform Calibration.

7. When Calibration is complete, it returns to the high-level menu.

8. You can see the change of the “PC Calibration” status from Failure to Success.

Method of Color Calibration (HDMI)

1. Apply the 720p Lattice (N0. 6) pattern signal to the HDMI1/DVI IN port.

2. Press the Source key to switch to “HDMI1” mode.

3. Enter Service mode.

4. Select the “ADC” menu.

5. Select the “HDMI Calibration” menu.

6. In “HDMI Calibration Off” status, press the “►” key to perform Calibration.

7. When Calibration is complete, it returns to the high-level menu.

8. You can see the change of the “HDMI Calibration” status from Failure to Success.

Adjustment

1. Into the Factory Mode.

2. Select SVC Menu.

3. Select ADC/WB menu.

4. Select WB menu.



Software Upgrade

 Software Upgrade can be performed by downloading the latest firmware from samsung.com to a USB memory device.

 Current Version - The software already installed in the TV.  Software is represented as ‘Year/Month/Day_Version’.

How to Check the Software Version

Use the Main Menu

1. Click the "MENU" key in remote controller.

2. Select "Support" menu.

3. Locate the menu cursor "Software Upgrade" menu.

4. Click the "INFO" key.  - Check the Main SW and Micom version.


Use the Factory Mode

How to Upgrade Software and Micom.

Insert a USB drive containing the firmware upgrade downloaded from samsung.com into the TV. Be careful not to disconnect the power or remove the USB drive while upgrades are being applied. The TV will turn off and turn on automatically after completing the firmware upgrade check the firmware version after the upgrades are complete (the new version will have a higher number than the older version). When software is upgraded, video and audio settings you have made will return to their default (factory) settings. It is recommend you write down your settings before beginning firmware update. After update is completed, restore your previous settings.

Main Software Upgrade

1. Store the sw program named "T-NT14LDEUC" in USB memory stick.

- Connect the USB.

2. Click the "MENU" key in Remote Controler.

3. Select "Support" menu.

Locate the menu cursor "Software Update" menu.

4. Locate the menu cursor "Update now" menu.

5. Click the "ENTER" key.

6. Click the "ENTER" key.

- Wait for upgrade complete.

- Check the Software Version.

Troubleshooting.

Previous Check.

1. Check the various cable connections first.

- Check to see if there is a burnt or damaged cable.

- Check to see if there is a disconnected or loose cable connection.

- Check to see if the cables are connected according to the connection diagram.

2. Check the power input to the Main Board.

3. Check the power in & output between SMPS & Main Board, Main Board & Panel, IP & Panel.

How to Check Fault Symptom.

NOTE:  If you replace the main board with new one, please change the factory option as well.  The options you must change are "Type".

Entering Factory Mode

To enter ‘Service Mode’ Press the remote -control keys in this sequence:

if you do not have a remote control:

Power Off > Information > Menu > Mute > Power On

if you have factory remote control: Info > Factory

If you don't have factory remote control, can't control some menus.

Chassis: LA35  Destination: USA.  AC 110-127 V, 60 Hz

1. Do not press panel surface to avoid blue spot on the panel display.

2. Do not use hard cloth or rub the surface too hard. This may cause scratches on the surface.

3. Take care not to subject the TV’s surface to water or detergent. Any liquid (including pets urine) if enters the product could lead to TV failure.

4. Take care not to subject the surface to insect repellent, solvent, thiner or other voiltile substances. This may degrade surface quality or cause peeling of the paint.

5. The surface of the display panel is specially treated and may be easily damaged. Take care not to tap or scratch with your fingernail or other hard objects.

Service Mode:  How to enter into Service Mode

While pressing [VOLUME ( - )] button of the main unit, press [INFO] button of the remote control three times within 2 seconds.



Contents of adjustment mode

 Value is shown as a hexadecimal number.

 Preset value differs depending on models.

 After entering the adjustment mode, take note of the value in each item before starting adjustment.


How to exit

Switch off the power with the [POWER] button on the main unit or the [POWER] button on the remote control.

SRV-TOOL:  How to access

1. Select [SRV-TOOL] in Service Mode.

2. Press [OK] button on the remote control.


Display of SOS History

SOS History (Number of LED blinking ) indication.

From left side; Last SOS, before Last, three occurrence before, 2nd occurrence after shipment, 1st occurrence after shipment.

This indication except 2nd and 1st occurrence after shipment will be cleared by [Self-check indication and forced to factory shipment setting].

POWER ON TIME/COUNT

Note : To display TIME/COUNT menu, highlight position, then press MUTE for 3sec.

Time : Cumulative power on time, indicated hour : minute by decimal

Count : Number of ON times by decimal

Note : This indication will not be cleared by either of the self-checks or any other command.

Exit

Disconnect the AC cord from wall outlet.

Self Check Mode

1. Press the ‘MENU’ button (on the remote control) and the ‘VOL DOWN’ button on the LCD panel.

2. Press ON/OFF button on the panel to Exit.

Hotel Mode Adjustment

1. Press the ‘VOLUME DOWN’ button on the TV panel and simultaneously press the INPUT button on the remote control 3 times to enter Hotel Mode.

2. Set Hotel mode ‘on/off’, then press ‘EXIT’ to come out.

Hotel Mode

1. Purpose

Restrict a function for hotels.

2. Access command to the Hotel mode setup menu.

In order to display the Hotel mode setup menu, please enter the following command (within 2 second). [TV] : Vol [Down] + [REMOTE] : INPUT (3 times).

Then, the Hotel mode setup menu is displayed.


3. To exit the Hotel mode setup menu

Disconnect AC power cord from wall outlet.

Self-check indication only:

Produce TV reception screen, and while pressing [VOLUME ( - )] button on the main unit, press [OK] button on the remote control for more than 3 seconds.

Produce TV reception screen, and while pressing [VOLUME ( - )] button on the main unit, press [MENU] button on the remote control for more than 3 seconds.

Exit

Disconnect the AC cord from wall outlet.

Information of LED Flashing timing chart.

2. Contents

When an abnormality occurs, the protection circuit will operate and reset the unit to stand by mode. During this time, the defective block can be identified by the number of blinking times of the Power LED on the front panel of the unit as follow:

No Power

First check point

There are following 2 states of No Power indication by power LED.

1. No lit

2. Red is lit then turns red blinking a few seconds later.

Sony CMT-X3CD PERSONAL AUDIO SYSTEM – troubleshooting, resetting, disc lock and releasing, How to eject disc at emergency, Exploded view and more

The laser diode in the optical pick-up block may suffer electrostatic break-down because of the potential difference generated by the charged electrostatic load, etc. on clothing and the human body.
During repair, pay attention to electrostatic break-down and also use the procedure in the printed matter which is included in the repair parts.
The flexible board is easily damaged and should be handled with care.

CAPACITOR ELECTRICAL DISCHARGE PROCESs
When checking the board, the electrical discharge is necessary for the electric shock prevention.
Connect the resistor to both ends of respective capacitors.



MODEL IDENTIFICATION
Distinguish by Part No. of model number label stuck on the bottom side of a main unit.
Note: The printed contents of following figure model number label may be different from the model number label of a main unit.


When each boards installed in this unit are defective, individual electrical parts that the mount is done cannot be replaced. When each boards are defective, replace the mounted board or the whole parts including an applicable board.
NOTE THE REPLACING OF MA BOARD OR NFC MODULE
When replacing the MA board or the NFC module, be sure replace both at the same time.
The MA board or the NFC module cannot replace with single.

RELEASING THE DISC SLOT LOCK
The disc slot lock function for the antitheft of sample disc in the shop is equipped.

Releasing Procedure:
1. Press the [Power] button to turn the power on.
2. Press two buttons of the [ PAIRING FUNCTION] and [VOL-] simultaneously for five seconds.
3. The message “UNLOCKED” is displayed on the fluorescent indicator tube and the disc slot is unlocked.
Note: When “LOCKED” is displayed, the disc slot lock is not released by turning power on/off with the [Power] button.

 No Display When You Turn the Main Unit ON, When you plug power cord and turn the main unit on, VFD won’t display.
1. Check PW board +13V DC output.
2. Check MA board output -24V from U18 on the MA board.  If -24V is not normal, check the working status of U18 on the MA board.
3. Check +3.3V from U3 on the MA board.  If +3.3V is not normal, check the working status of U3 on the MA board.
4. Check the waveform of Y1 on the MA board, the waveform of Y1 on the MA board sine wave.  If the waveform of Y1 on the MA board is not normal, check Y1 on the MA board.

When You Plug Power Cord and Turn The Main Unit ON, The Main Unit Won’t Have Sound
1. Check U6 on the MA board and its peripheral circuit.
2. Check voltage +3.3V from pin 33, pin 60, pin 63, pin 70, pin 72, pin 78, pin 83 and pin 90 of U6 on the MA board.  If the voltage +3.3V is not normal, check +3.3V power circuit of MA board.
3. Check voltage +1.2V from pin 11, pin 77 and pin 86 of U6 on the MA board.  If the voltage +1.2V is not normal, check +1.2V power circuit of MA board.
4. Check if oscillating frequency 27 MHz of Y1 crystal on the MA board is normal.  If the oscillating frequency 27 MHz is not normal, check if Y1 on the MA board and its peripheral circuit is in failure.
5. Check if the status of U17 and U25 on the MA board works well, the normal status of pin 27 of U25 on the MA board is sine wave with frequency 11.0592 MHz. And pin 23 of U25 on the MA board is high in normal status.  If pin 27 of U25 on the MA board wave is not normal, check if U17 and U25 on the MA board and its peripheral circuit is in failure.

When You Plug Power Cord and Turn The Main Unit ON, The Main Unit Won’t Read Disc Normal
1. Check U6 on the MA board signal and its peripheral circuit, and check +3.3V from pin 8 of U5 on the MA board is normal.  If +3.3V is not normal, check +3.3V power circuit of MA board.
2. Check every signal connected between U5 and U6 on the MA board, especially including DATA, CLK and CS signal.  If DATA, CLK and CS signal is not normal output, check if U6 on the MA board is in failure.
3. Check if +5V from pin 8, pin 19 and pin 21 of U7 on the MA board is normal.  If +5V is not normal, check +5V power circuit of MA board.
4. Check every signal connected between U6 and U7 on the MA board, especially FOCUS_S, SPDL_S, XOPVIN1, SLED_S, TRACK_S, VREF2 and DRVSB signal to drive MD.  If FOCUS_S, SPDL_S, XOPVIN1, SLED_S, TRACK_S, VREF2 and DRVSB signal is not normal output, check if U7 on the MA board is in failure.

When You Plug Power Cord and Turn The Main Unit ON, The Wireless Set Can’t Connect The Bluetooth of the Main Unit.
1. Check +3.3V from pin 29 and pin 32 of U13 on the MA board.  If +3.3V is not normal, check +3.3V power circuit of MA board.
2. Check U13 on the MA board signal and its peripheral circuit, make sure U13 is in failure or not. 3. Touch the NFC, you can’t awake the Main Unit, but you can connect the Bluetooth directly, check the connection between the NFC module and the MA board.
If the connection is normal, check the NFC module.


HOW TO EJECT THE DISC WHEN POWER SWITCH TURN OFF or there is No Power


SOFTWARE VERSION
It can confirm the software version.
1. Press the [Power] button to turn the power on.
2. Press the [ PAIRING FUNCTION] button to turn the CD function.
3. Press the button on the remote commander as following order. [CREAR] → [B] → [RETURN]
(Displayed values in the following figure are example)


4. The software version display disappears in about 7 seconds, and it returns to the display of the normal mode.

FACTORY RESET
It can clear all settings and the Bluetooth link history to initial conditions. Execute this mode when returning the this unit to the customer.
1. Press the [Power] button to turn the power on.
2. Press two buttons of the [ PAIRING FUNCTION] and [Eject] simultaneously for five seconds.
3. The message “RESET” is displayed on the fluorescent indicator tube, then returns to the normal mode.

DISC SLOT LOCK
It can be unable to take sample disc out of disc slot in the shop.
1. Press the [Power] button to turn the power on.
2. Insert a disc in the unit.
3. Press two buttons of the [ PAIRING FUNCTION] and [VOL-] simultaneously for five seconds.
4. The message “LOCKED” is displayed on the fluorescent indicator tube and the disc slot is locked.
(Even if pressing the [Eject] button, the message “LOCKED” is displayed on the fluorescent indicator tube and the disc slot is locked)

Releasing method:
1. Press two buttons of the [ PAIRING FUNCTION] and [VOL-] simultaneously for five seconds.
2. The message “UNLOCKED” is displayed on the fluorescent indicator tube and the disc slot is unlocked.

VFD TEST
It can confirm the fluorescent indicator tube.
1. Press the [Power] button to turn the power on.
2. Press two buttons of the [ PAIRING FUNCTION] and [VOL+] simultaneously for five seconds.
3. All segments on the fluorescent indicator tube light up.

4. All segments turn off the light in about 3 seconds, and it returns to the display of the normal mode.

Bluetooth ON/OFF
It can turn on or off the wireless signal of Bluetooth.
1. Press the [Power] button to turn the power on.
2. Press the [ PAIRING FUNCTION] button to turn the BT AUDIO function.
Note 1: When the Bluetooth function to select the “BT AUDIO” in the state off, the “BT OFF” is displayed.
3. Press two buttons of the [ >|| ] and [VOL +] simultaneously for five seconds.
4. The message “BT ON” or “BT OFF” is displayed on the fluorescent indicator tube, it turn on or off the wireless signal of Bluetooth.
Note 2: When the Bluetooth function is the state off, when performed the NFC one touch connection or the power off to unplug the AC power cord, Bluetooth function is switched on from off.
