The picture tube base socket to the TV should be suspected. If the Focus pin [pin number – 1] of the picture tube wont gets sufficient voltage due to corrosion of the contacts inside the base socket, this fault may happen. Replace the picture tube base socket. This socket can be located on the base card of the picture tube.
