HOW TO ENTER SERVICE MODE TO SONY KV-XA21M80 - KV-XA21M83 - KV-XA21M50 - KV-XA21M61 - KV-XA21M60

Remote control to these sets are [RM-952]

To enter service mode Press [DISPLAY--> 5--> VOL+-->POWER] on the remote control.

On the service menu display, "GEO" is Device Name, "00" is item number, "HPS" is the item name, "IC" is the item data, "square marking" is marking of virgin 'NVM', "SERVICE" shows service mode, "50" shows PAL, SECAM, (60 for NTSC), "630S" is the OEM code, "1.0C" is the software version and "000A" is the 'Total Power On time' in hours.

Cancellation of service mode.

Turn the TV to standby condition (Press Power Button on the remote), then press Power button again.

Service mode adjustments.
* Put the TV to service mode.
** Press  [1 UP and 4 DN] to select an item for adjust.
*** Press [3 UP and 6 DN], to raise or lower the data value of the selected item.
**** Press [Muting] button, and it will indicate 'WRITE' on the screen.
***** Press "0" button on the remote to write new value in memory.
 Memory WRITE confirmation.
* After adjustment, pull out the AC plug from wall outlet, and plug it back again.
** Turn the Power switch ON, and set the TV into service mode.
*** Call the adjusted item/s, again and confirm the adjustments were made.

Service Mode Keys.

[1],[4] - Select adjustment mode.
[3],[6] - Raise or lower the data value for the selected item.
[Muting] - Write.
[0] - Execute writing.
[7],[0] - All the data becomes value in memory.
[8],[0] - All user control goes to standard asjustment state.
[2],[0] - Write 50Hz adjsutment data to 60Hz and vice versa.

Service mode adjustment mode [An Example]

* Select GEO 00 HPS with [1] and [4] buttons.
** Raise or lower the data value with [3] and [6] buttons.
*** Select the optimum state. Default value for PAL reception is [1F].
**** Write the adjusted data value with "Mute" button.
***** Execute the writing with [0] button. Use this method to adjust all items.

  Never go forward, if you are not qualified and well experienced with service mode adjustment.  You must know, what are you doing.  Improper adjustment done with service mode adjustments, without knowledge, may make the set irrepairable.

Adjsutment that should be done after memory IC repalcement.

* Enter service mode.
**Press [5],[0] buttons (Data initilization), on the remote and press [2],[0] (Data Copy), to initilize the data.
*** Call each item number and check the screen shows the normal picture.  If not adjust the respective parameters' data value.In case, whether an item is found not well adjusted, rectify it by calling and adjsuting the respecive item's data value, press "Mutin' followed by pressing [0]. to execute.
**** Selected item numbers "OPB0" (OP1), "OPB1" (OP2), "OPB2" (OP3), and respectively set, the bit per model by using the remote buttons [3] & [6].
***** Press [8] & [0] (Test Normal), to return to the data that was set at factory on the shipment. [This will also cancel the service mode]
