If you know the code for your device, you can synchronise it with your device by Direct Code Entry method. To see whether there is setup code for your device with a universal remote control, refer to the manual and code list of the remote control. If it has code/s, proceedings are.
Direct Code Entry Method.
* Press and Hold 'Setup' button on the remote control, until the Red Indicator stays ON. Release the 'Setup' button
** Press and release the Mode Button and select the device to which the remote should be synchronised. [TV, DVD, VCR etc]
*** Enter the code [Three digit / Four digit or Five digit] from the code list. After a Valid Code Entry, the indicator turns OFF. If the code is Invalid; the indicator flashes.
**** Switch ON your device, press channel UP. If the device responds means, it has been programmed. If not, try an other code to synchronise. Do all the steps above once more. If some buttons on the remote do not respond properly, try an other code which will have maximum functionality.
If you do not have the code for your device, for an experiment, you can do a code search method. The only disadvantage to this method is, you can't understand to whch code your Device has been programmed.
Code Search Method
* Turn ON the device to be synchronised.
** Press and hold the Setup button on the remote control, until the red indicator stays ON and relese the Setup button.
*** Press and release the Mode button to select your device [TV / DVD / VCR etc]. The red indicator will blink once and will stay ON.
**** Press Channel UP button repeatedly, until the device to be controlled changes Channel. You might have to press Channel Up button upto 300 times. This is why, most of the universal remote control will have upto 300 codes stored in its memeory, when it has programmed at the factory. For each press of Channel UP button, each code will send to the device. Keep at least 4 seconds in between each Channel UP press, so that to give the device circuits to respond each code it get from the remote.
