HP-NX6325_HP-NX6315 _ NOTEBOOK PC _ DISASSEMBLE PROCEDURE



PREPARING THE COMPUTER FOR DISASSEMBLE
  • Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
  • Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
  • Disconnect the power cord.
TO REMOVE BATTERY
  • Turn the computer upside down with the rear panel toward you.
  • Slide the battery release latch on the right]and then the battery release latch on the left to release the battery.
  • Slide the battery straight back and remove it.
HARD DRIVE COVER
  • Position the computer with the front toward you.
  • Loosen the two Phillips PM2.0×5.0 screws that secure the hard drive cover to the computer.
  • Lift the right side of the hard drive cover and swing it up and to the left.
  • Remove the hard drive cover
  • Loosen the Phillips PM2.5×13.0 spring-loaded hard drive retention screw.
  • Grasp the mylar tab on the hard drive and slide the hard drive to the right to disconnect it from the system board.
  • Remove the hard drive from the hard drive bay
  • Remove the four Phillips PM3.0×4.0 hard drive frame screws from each side of the hard drive.
  • Lift the frame straight up to remove if from the hard drive
COMPUTER FEET
The computer feet are adhesive-backed rubber pads.
BLUETOOTH MODULE
  • Remove the hard drive first.
  • Slide the Bluetooth module out of the clip in the hard drive compartment.
  • Disconnect the Bluetooth cable from the module.
EXTERNAL MEMORY MODULE
  • Position the computer with the front toward you.
  • Loosen the Phillips PM2.0×5.0 screw that secures the memory module compartment cover to the computer.
  • Lift the rear edge of the cover up and swing it toward you.
  • Remove the memory module compartment cover.
  • Spread the retaining tabs on each side of the memory module socket to release the memory module. (The edge of  the module opposite the socket rises away from the computer.)
  • Slide the module away from the socket at an angle.
  • Remove the memory module.
OPTICAL DRIVE
  • Remove the Torx8 T8M2.0×9.0 screw that secures the optical drive to the computer.
  • Insert a flat-bladed driver into the slot on the bottom of the computer and push the tab.
  • Remove the optical drive from the computer.
KEYBOARD
  • Remove the two Torx8 T8M2.0×9.0 screws that secure the keyboard to the computer.
  • Turn the computer display-side up with the front toward you.
  • Open the computer as far as possible.
  • Slide the four keyboard retaining latches toward you.
  • Lift the rear edge of the keyboard and swing it forward until it rests on the palm rest.
  • Release the ZIF connector to which the pointing stick cable is attached and disconnect the pointing stick cable.
  • Remove keyboard.
FAN
  • Disconnect the fan cable from the system board.
  • Loosen the two Phillips PM2.0×7.0 screws that secure the fan to the computer.
  • Remove the fan.
HEATSINK
  • Remove the four Phillips PM2.0×6.0 screws that secure the heat sink to the computer.
  • Lift the right side of the heat sink to disengage it from the processor.
  • Slide the heat sink to the right to remove it.
  • The thermal paste and thermal pads should be thoroughly cleaned from the surfaces of the heat sink and system board components each time the heat sink is removed. Thermal paste and pads are included with the heat sink and all processor spare part kits.
THERMAL PASTE AND PAD LOCATIONS
  • Use a flat-bladed screwdriver to turn the processor locking screw one-half turn counterclockwise until you hear a click.
  • Lift the processor straight up and remove it.
  • The gold triangle on the processor should be located in the left-rear corner of the processor socket when you install the processor
RTC BATTERY
  • Remove the RTC battery from the socket on the system board.
  • Reverse the above procedure to install the RTC battery. Be sure that the RTC battery is installed with the “+” sign facing up.
MINI CARD 'WLAN' MODULE
  • Make note of which antenna cable is attached to which antenna clip on the Mini Card WLAN module before disconnecting the cables, then disconnect the auxiliary and main antenna cables from the module.
  • Remove the two Phillips PM2.5×4.0 screws that secure the Mini Card WLAN module to the computer.
  • Remove the Mini Card WLAN module by pulling the module from the socket at an angle.
  • Mini Card WLAN modules are designed with a notch to prevent incorrect installation.
INTERNAL MEMORY MODULE
  • Spread the retaining tabs on each side of the memory module socket to release the memory module. (The edge of the module opposite the socket rises away from the computer.).
  • Slide the module away from the socket at an angle.
  • Remove the memory module.
SWITCH COVER
  • Turn the computer upside down with the rear panel toward you.
  • Remove the two Torx8 T8M2.5×2.0 screws that secure the switch cover to the computer
  • Turn the computer display-side up with front toward you.
  • Open the computer as far as possible.
  • Disconnect the LED board cable from the system board.
  • Insert a flat-bladed screwdriver into the four notches on the front edge of the switch cover and lift up until the cover disengages from the computer.
  • Remove the switch cover
DISPLAY ASSEMBLY
  • Remove the four Torx8 T82.5×9.0 screws that secure the display assembly to the computer.
  • Turn the computer display-side up with the front toward you.
  • Open the computer as far as possible.
  • Support the display assembly when removing the following screws. Failure to support the display assembly can result in damage to the display assembly and other computer components.
  • Disconnect the display cable from the system board.
  • Remove the wireless antenna cables from the clips in the top cover.
  • Remove the two Torx8 T8M2.5×9.0 screws that secure the display assembly to the computer.
  • Lift the display assembly straight up and remove it.
TOP COVER
  • Turn the computer upside down with the front toward you.
  • Remove the thirteen Torx8 T8M2.5×9.0 screws that secure the top cover to the computer
  • Turn the computer right-side up with the front toward you.
  • Disconnect the following cables from the system board:
  1. TouchPad cable.
  2. Fingerprint reader board cable (HP Compaq nx6325 models only).
  3. Microphone cable.
  • Remove the two Torx8 T8M2.5×9.0 screws that secure the top cover to the computer.
  • Lift up the rear edge of the top cover until it disengages from the base enclosure.
  • Swing the top cover toward you until the left and right sides of the top cover disengage from the base enclosure.
  • Lift up on the left and right sides of the top cover until the top cover disengages from the base enclosure.
SPEAKER
  • Disconnect the speaker cable from the system board.
  • Remove the speaker
MICROPHONE
  • Disconnect the microphone cable from the system board and remove the microphone from the computer.
  • If it is necessary to replace the Bluetooth module cable, disconnect the cable from the system board, remove the cable from the clips in the base enclosure, and then remove the cable from computer.
MODEM MODULE
  • Remove the two Phillips PM2.5×4.0 screws that secure the modem module to the system board.
  • Lift the front of the modem module to disconnect it from the system board.
  • Disconnect the modem module cable from the modem module.
  • Disconnect the modem cable from the system board.
  • Remove the modem connector from the clip in the base enclosure.
  • The modem module cable is included with the modem module spare part kit and is also available in the Cable Kit, spare part number 430883-001
USB AUDIO BOARD
  • Position the computer with the rear panel toward you.
  • Release the ZIF connector to which the USB/audio board cable is connected and disconnect the USB/audio board cable from the system board .
  • Remove the Phillips PM2.0×3.0 screw that secures the USB/audio board to the base enclosure.
  • Remove the cable from the clips in the base enclosure.
  • Remove the USB/audio board.
  • Release the ZIF connector to which the USB/audio board cable is connected and disconnect the USB/audio board cable USB/audio board.
SYSTEM BOARD
  • Remove the two HM5.0×9.0 screw locks on each side of the external monitor connector.
  • Remove the two HM5.0×9.0 screw locks on each side of the external monitor connector.
  • Use the optical drive connector to lift the right side of the system board until the power connector is clear of the base enclosure.
  • Slide the system board to the right at an angle and remove it from the base enclosure.
