COOLANT REFILL PROCESS TO REAR PROJECTION TELEVISIONS - 4 of 4

Contn:
                                                          [4 of 4]

  • Reassemble the CRT into the set and reconnect all wires and harnessing.

Many times the BLUE CRT's expansion chamber is upside down relative to the other two CRTs.

  • Reconnect the anode lead. Align the collar with the factory marked line, and push the lead in until the collar snaps in place. Then slide the rubber boot down similar to the other leads.

  • Double check your wiring again to make sure everything is plugged back in, and make certain there are no leaks. Once you are certain there are no leaks, plug in the set and turn it on.
  • Now, if you have just completed steps 1 through 29 for the Blue CRT, now return to Step 4 and repeat for the Green CRT.

  • Reinstall the shielding and screen. You will see a very bad picture. The convergence will likely be off, so bring up the converence menu that shows the center cross.
  • Do not use the menu to adjust the convergence.  You must adjust the convergence manually in the next step.

  • Adjust (Rotate) the centering tabs on the Green and Blue CRT's until the crosshair's line up on the Red crosshair. Use the Red CRT as the reference for the Green and Blue. (Do not adjust the Red CRT's centering tabs as this CRT has not been removed or disturbed.) If you have accidently loosened the yoke on the Green or Blue CRT's you will have to loosen and rotate to match the red. Again, do not mess with the Red CRT.

  • Finished.
