SHARP LC-26AF3 M/H/X - LC-32AF3 M/H/X - LC-37AF3 M/H/X - DISPLAY ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURE - LAMP ERROR DETECTION & MEASURES


ENTERING AND EXITING THE DISPLAY ADJUSTMENT MODE
  • Before entering the display process mode, press the “RESET” button or adjust the menu image to reset the AV position.
  • Unplug the AC power cord of the running TV set to force off the power.
  • While holding down “VOL (+)” and “CH” keys at once, plug in the AC power cord to turn on TV. The letter “K” appears on the screen.
  • Next, press either “VOL (+/-)” or “CH (/)” of the remote control. Multiple lines of red characters appearing onscreen indicate that the unit is now in the display process mode. If you fail to enter this mode (the display is the same as normal start-up), retry the procedure.
  • To exit the display process mode after the adjustment is completed, unplug the AC cord to force off the power. (When the power is turned off with the remote control, once unplug the AC cord and after 10 seconds plug it in again.)
Use due care in handling the information described here lest the users should know how to enter the display process mode. If the setting is tampered with in this mode, unrecoverable system damage may result.

LAMP ERROR DETECTION

This LCD color TV set incorporates the lamp error detection feature that automatically turns off the power for safety. If the lamp or the lamp circuit is defective or if the lamp error detection is activated for some reason, the following will result.
  1. The power is interrupted in approx. 6 seconds after turned on.(The power LED on the front of the TV set turns from green to red and keeps blinking in red: ON for 250ms; OFF for 1 sec)
  2. If the phenomenon mentioned in 1above occurs five consecutive times, the power cannot be turned on.(The LED keeps blinking in red: ON for 250ms; OFF for 1 sec)
MEASURES
Checking with lamp error detection OFF
  • Enter the display process.
  • Entering and exiting the display process mode”. If the lamp or the lamp circuit is defective, the lamp will go out. (The power LED is green.)
  • Thus abnormalities can be checked.
Resetting the lamp error circuit
  • After checking for abnormality in the lamp or the lamp circuit, reset the lamp error count.  If the lamp error is detected five consecutive times, the power cannot be turned on.
  • Use the cursor (UP/DOWN) key to move to [L ERR RESET], (Line 4) on the display process mode service page.
  • Then use the cursor (LEFT/RIGHT) key to select the [L ERR RESET] value. Finally press the cursor (UP/DOWN) key to reset the value to “0”.
