MAGNAVOX - 25PT 5335 - SERVICE MODE

ENTERING SERVICE MODE

There are two ways to enter service mode to this set.  With remote control, and without remote control.

With Remote Control

  • Press the following key sequence [062596], directly followed by 'Menu" button.  Do not allow display to time out between entries while keying the sequence.
Without Remote Control
  • Short jumper wires [9252] & [9275] on the family board, and apply AC power.  This is a skilled work, that only any experienced service technician can do.
  • Caution:  Entering the service mode by shorting wires [9252] & [9275] will override the (+8V) protection.  So do this only for a short period.  When doing this, the person who does it must know exactly what he is doing, as it could damage the TV set.

After entering service mode, a screen like this will be visible.

  • On the TV, Press and Hold the 'Volume Dn" button and Press the "Channel Dn" button for a few seconds to switch from SDM to SAM and reverse.
  • Switch the set to "Standby' to 'EXIT' from service mode.
  • If turn the television set OFF by removing AC power, without using the "Power" button first to make it standby, the set will remain in Service Mode and will switch back with Service Mode.  So, before unplug the power cord from AC wall socket, make the set to standby first.
