SAMSUNG - HLR 4667W1X HLR5067W1X TROUBLESHOOTING DLP PTV




APPLICABLE TO:  SAMSUNG DLP TVs > HLR5067WX/XAA _ HLR4667W1X/XAA_HLR5067W1X/XAA_HLR5667W1X/XAA_HLR6167W1X/XAA Models.

Check the master switch  and fuse to see whether they are operating.

LED blinking:  [Temp & Timer LEDs blinks]

  • Check whether the fans are running.  If Yes, Replace Detect Board.
  • If No, check for (8VDC) at CN103 & 104 on Detect Board.  If Yes, Replace Fan/s.
  • If No, Check CN802 pins 8&10 on the Power Board.  If No, Replace the Power Board.
  • If Yes, Replace the Analog board.
<Blinking Lamp and Temp LEDs>
  • Is Lamp Cover installed?  If No, install the Lamp Cover.
  • If Yes, make sure, lamp cover Switch is activating. 
  • If Yes, Short CN101 on Sub-Detect board.  Check boss on the Lamp cover.
  • If No, Replace Sub-Detect board.
  • If this too do not help, Replace the Digital Board.
<A Blinking Lamp LED is the most common failure indication.  It can be caused by No lamp, No Color Wheel, No Fan/s or other defective components>

Check Whether:
  • Do Fan/s Run? If Yes, does the Color Wheel Run?  If Yes, Is lamp On? If Yes, Replace DMD Board.
  • Do the Fan/s Run?  If yes, does the Color Wheel Run? If No, Replace the Color Wheel Assy'
  • If Fan/s Run; Color wheel Run; and the Lamp is ON then Replace the DMD board.
  • Fan/s Runs; Color Wheel Runs; Lamp is ON, but Lamp come On and then Shuts Down.  If so, Check the (5Vpp) at CN503 pin-3 on DMD board. If there is (5Vpp); Replace DMD baord.  A faulty ballast could also be the reason.
  • If the Fan/s run; Color wheel run; lamp come On and shuts Off > Check 280VDC to lamp ballast CN1.  If there is voltage present, Re install Lamp Ass'y.  If there is no 280VDC, Replace Power board.
