SAMSUNG - HLR - 4667W SERIES DLP TV SERVICE HELP - WORKIGNG PRINCIPLES

LIGHT ENGINE FAILURE INSPECTION

  1. When the Power is plugged in, DC 330V is automatically supplied to ballast >> Check whether this DC330V is  present at ballast.
  2. When Power Key is pressed via the remote control, the micom of the analog board outputs High (5V) PWR signals.  The power board operates normally, if 5V and 12V are supplied  to the DMD CN-602 terminal  >> Check whether 5V and 12V are supplied to the CN-602 terminal.  * 12V must be there to operate the motor.
  3. The MTR reset signals is supplied to the TP713 terminal of the motor IC704 from the micon on the digital board and then motor starts to drive.  >>  After the set is Powered ON, check whether this 5V is detected on pin number [20] of IC704.
  4. If the color wheel rotates for a certain time and then stops, check whether the color wheel sensor is normal.  After a while, the sound generated by the rotating color wheel is heard. (If 5V is not detected, the motor will not operate.)
  5. Check whether the signal [SCI: Start Control Input] that turns the Lamp #2 of CN504 on DMD board is high (5V).  Check this voltage.  When SCI is high (5V), the lamp litz  of CN504 is low (0V).  If CN504 #2 terminal voltage changes to pulse waveform from 14 seconds after [for a 50"TV] the time that the voltage is (5).  When about 4 seconds have passed after changing to pulse waveform, the screens are displayed on the set.
  6. Method for checking whether the DDP1011IC reset is normal >> If the voltage R204 is 3V, it is normal.
LAMP REPLACEMENT

  • Replace the correct code numbered lamp to avoid damage to TV.
  • Turn the power Off, and wait for 30 minutes before replacing the lamp, as it will be hot.
  • Do not touch the glass part of the lamp with bare hands nor insert any foreign object inside the cover as it may cause poor screen quality, electric shock of fire.
  • Be sure to connect this TV directly to an AC wall outlet to help cooling fan to work more time to cool the lamp.
  1. Unplug the TV from AC mains and remove four screws of the lamp lid.
  2. Remove lamp cover.
  3. Remove the screw securing the Lamp.
  4. Seperate the lamp from the engine by holding the handle and pulling it out.
