Sony KDF E50A projection TV - Lamp Replacement
- turn Off the power on the Main unit. Wait several minutes, then unplug the power cord. [The cooling fan will continue to operate for about [2] minutes after turning the Power Off].
- Wait at least 30 minutes after unplugging the power cord to allow the lamp to cool down before replacing it. To avoid being burned, do not touch the lamp receptacle once the lamp has been removed.
- Take the lamp out of the box. The lamp type to use with this TV is [Sony XL-2400]. Use of any other type might damage the TV circuits.
- Remove the outside lamp cover.
- Remove the Lamp Door. Turn the knob counter-clockwise to open and pull out cover.
- Pull out the lamp. hook a finger through the loop of lamp handle, and pull the handle upwards. Then pull the lamp straight out.
- Put the new lamp into place. Mount the new lamp securely Failure to do so may cause a fire or the screen goes to dark.
- Reattach the lamp door. Turn the knob back to close and secure the cover.
- Put the outside lamp cover back it its place. If the lamp is not securely reattached, the self diagnostic function may be triggered and the Power/Standby indicator flashes three times.
After replaing the lamp, if the set works fine, it is OK. If not, make a factory reset. To reset the TV to its factory settings.
- Turn ON the TV. While holding down the [Up] button on the remote control, press the 'Power' button on the TV. The TV will turns itself Off, then back On again. Release the [Up] button. The factory reset will clear all customized settings, including parental lock settings.
