RTC BATTERY


  • Disconnect the RTC battery cable from the system board.
  • Remove the RTC battery.
  • The RTC battery is secured to the computer by 2-sided tape.  All replacement RTC battery spare part kits Include 2-sided tape.

MINI CARD MODULE

  • Make note of which wireless antenna cable is attached to which antenna clip on the Mini Card module before disconnecting the cables, Then disconnect the cables from the module.
  • Remove the two Phillips PM2.5×5.0 screws that secure the Mini Card module to the computer. (The edge of the module opposite the socket rises away from the computer).
  • Remove the module by pulling it away from the socket at an angle.
  • Mini Card modules are designed with a notch to prevent incorrect installation into the Mini Card module socket.



OPTICAL DRIVE

  • Remove the Phillips PM2.5×7.0 screw that secures the optical drive to the computer.
  • Insert a thin tool, such as a paper clip, into the media tray release hole. (The optical drive media tray releases from the optical drive.)
  • Use the media tray frame to slide the optical drive out of the computer.
  • Remove the optical drive.







  • Position the optical drive with the optical drive bracket toward you.
  • Remove the two Phillips PM2.0×3.0 screws that secure the optical drive bracket to the optical drive.
  • Remove the optical drive




SWITCH COVER


  • Close the computer.
  • Turn the computer upside down with the front panel toward you.
  • Remove the three Phillips PM2.5×5.0 screws that secure the switch cover to the computer.



  • Turn the computer display-side up with the front toward you.
  • Open the computer as far as possible.
  • Lift the rear edge of the switch cover and swing it forward until it rests on the keyboard.





  • Release the zero insertion force (ZIF) connector to which the LED board cable is connected and disconnect the cable from the LED board.
  • Remove the switch cover.





KEYBOARD
  • Remove the four Phillips PM2.5×7.0 screws that secure the keyboard to the computer.


  • Turn the computer display-side up with the front panel toward you.
  • Open the computer as far as possible.
  • Lift the rear edge of the keyboard until it rests at an angle.
  • Slide the keyboard back to disengage the tabs on the front edge of the keyboard from the top cover.
  • Swing the keyboard forward until it rests on the palm rest.



  • Release the ZIF connector to which the keyboard cable is connected and disconnect the keyboard cable from the system board.
  • Remove the keyboard.



SPEAKER ASSEMBLY

  • Disconnect the speaker assembly cable from the power button board.
  • Remove the two Phillips PM2.5×4.0 screws that secure the speaker assembly to the computer.
  • Remove the speaker assembly.



POWER BUTTON BOARD

  • Disconnect the microphone cable and the speaker assembly cable from the power button board.
  • Release the ZIF connector to which the power button board is connected and disconnect the cable.
  • Remove the power button board cable from the clip in the top cover.

  • Remove the two Phillips PM2.0×3.0 screws that secure the power button board to the computer.
  • Remove the power button board.
