In
order for the remote control to transmit the correct signals to control the TV,
the remote control must be programmed with a code corresponding to the brand of
TV in use. Below is a set of instructions for programming TV codes into the
remote:
- Identify the make of the TV; e.g. Sony, Philips etc.
- Find the TV manufacturer in the TV brand code tables in this manual. Most TV manufacturers have more than one brand code listed; if this is the case use the steps below to try all the brand codes until a suitable one is found. If no brand code exists for your manufacturer, try using other popular brand codes.
- Press the TV Mode button and hold for 2.5 seconds. The TV button will blink twice.
- Continue to hold down the TV mode button for another 2.5 seconds. The TV button will blink twice again.
- Release TV mode button.
- Enter the 3-digit TV brand code from the list in this manual. At each key press the mode button will blink. If the TV brand code is accepted, the TV button will flash twice and go out when the 3rd digit is entered.
- If the TV brand code is not accepted, the TV button will remain illuminated for 2.5 seconds and then go out. The remote control will not have been programmed and the process will have to be repeated from the start.
- During the programming steps if no button is pressed for 10 seconds, the TV button light will go out, the remote control will not have been programmed, and the process will have to be repeated from the start.
- The same procedure applies to configuring the remote control in DVD mode.
