PANASONIC PLASMA TVs_FAULT DIAGNOSIS USING TEST PATTERN _ IF OSD IS PRESENT



     Picture problems like picture noise and or vertical line displayed all over the screen is mainly caused by a defective 'D' or 'A' board.  The internal test pattern generator cab help determine whether to replace 'D' or 'A' board.  The test patterns are generated by the 'D' board.  

To display internal test pattern [if OSD is present only].

  • While pressing Volume ( -- ) button oh the TV panel, press 'Recall' button of the remote control "three times, within 3 seconds".
  • Push button "1" of the remote control several times to select "AGING" setting.
  • Press number '3' button, or number '4' button of remote control to select Test Patterns.
  • Patterns will come up by the following order.
1.  White [by A].

2.  White [by D]

3.  Red
 4.  Green

5.  Blue

6.  On | Off Aging

7.  Ramp White

8.  Ramp Red

9.  Ramp Green

10.  Ramp Blue

11.  1% Window.

12.  Color bar
 13  A & B Zone

14.  Scroll to White [by A] -- to the beginning.

  • If the Pattern is abnormal, D Board will be defective.
  • If the Pattern is normal, A or D board should be suspected.
  • For all model Plamas, the pattern generation will be same as illustrated above.
