RCA TVs _ GENERAL PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS _ DIGITAL TRANSMISSION RECEPTION PROBLEMS _ Picture does not Fill the Screen _ HDTV making Low Buzzing Sound

IS THE TV IS PREPARED TO RECEIVE DIGITAL TRANSMISSION

The Digital TV Transition has been introduced by June 12th, 2009, all televisions will need a digital tuner to receive over-the-air broadcast signals. On newer models, the tuner is built in and no new equipment is necessary. If you have an older model, you can still use it. You'll just need to pick up a converter box.

PICTURE DOES NOT FILL THE SCREEN BY NO WAY.

The format of the picture that you see (16:9, 4:3, etc.) on your TV is determined by the broadcaster of the program that you are watching.
So, you may see bars on the top or side of the TV screen even though you have a widescreen TV. Sometimes, the TV program is broadcast in a format that you cannot change with the remote control. Other times, the picture is broadcast in a manner that can be changed.
One way to check to make sure that everything is working properly is to go to several other channels to see if you can change the format.

  3. Select Off-Air Guides.
  4. Select Do Not Acquire Off-Air Guides.
  5. Exit from the menu.
  6. You will now need to rebuild the channel list.
  7. Press MENU on the remote to access the Main menu.
  8. Select the System Options menu.

Select Channel Search. The system will run a channel search making it aware of all of the TV broadcast channels that the HDTV monitor can receive.

HDTV MAKING LOW BUZZING SOUND

It's possible that a power surge may have activated the electronic protection circuit. Wait 30 seconds and then turn the TV on again. If this happens frequently, the voltage in your house may be abnormally high or low. You may wish to consult an electrician.
