AIWA VXS205 TV-VCR COMBO SERVICE MODE




TO ENTER SERVICE MODE

  • To enter Service Mode, unplug AC cord till lost actual clock time.  
  • Press and Hold (Vol -ve) button on the Main unit and the Remote control simultaneously. 
Both pressing of Set key and Remote control key will not be possible if clock has been set.  To reset clock, either unplug AC cord and allow at least 30 minutes be fore Power On, or alternatively, discharge the backup capacitor.

SET KEY => REMOTE KEY =>OPERATIONS.

  1. Vol Min => [0] => Releasing V-Chip password.
  2. Vol Min => [1] => Initialization of the factory. 
  3. Vol Min => [2] => Horizontal Position Adjustment.
  4. Vol Min => [3] => Adjust PG shifter automatically.
  5. Vol Min => [4] => Adjust PG shifter manually.
  6. Vol Min => [5] => Adjusting tracking to the center position.
  7. Vol Min => [6] => Power On Total hours are displayed on the screen.
  8. Vol Min => [8] => Writing of EEPROM initial data.
  9. Vol Min => [9] => Display of adjustment menu on screen.
METHOD => OPERATIONS

  • Press the ATR button on the remote control for more than 2 seconds 'during play' => Adjusting of the tracking to center position.
  • Make a short circuit between the test point of SERVICE and GND => The EOT | BOT | reel sensor do not work at this moment.
CONFIRMATION OF USING HOURS
  • Power On Total hours and Play | Record total hours can be checked on the screen.  The total hours are displayed in 16 system of notation.  Confirmation of using hours is not possible if clock has been set.  To reset clock follow the method described above.

  1. Set Volume to Minimum.
  2. While Holding Down volume button on the front cabinet, press key [6] on the remote control simultaneously.
  3. After the confirmation of using hours, turn the power Off.
On Screen display will be:

INIT   00   83 = Initial setting content of Memory IC.
POWER ON   0000 = power On total hours.   {(16*16*16*thousands digit value) + ( 16*16* hundred digit value) + ( 16*tens digit value) + (ones digit value)}
PLAY | RECORD = Play / Record total hours
