PANASONIC - CT SERIES TVs SERVICE MODE ADJUSTMENTS



APPLICABLE TO PANASONIC - CT-32HX40B_CT-32HX40CB_CT-36HX40B_CT-36HX40CB

TO ENTER SERVICE MODE [FACTORY MODE]

  • Quick Entry to Service Mode. [When minor adjustments need to be done to the electronic controls, the method of entering the serviceman mode without removal of the cabinet back is:
  1. Select 'Setup" icon and select 'Cable' mode.
  2. Select 'Timer' icon, and set 'Sleep Time' to 30 minutes.
  3. Press 'Action' twice to exit menus.
  4. Tune to channel [124].
  5. Adjust 'Volume' to minimum [0].
  6. Press 'Volume Left' on the receiver.  Red 'CHK' appears in upper corner.
  7. To Exit Service Mode:
  8. Press 'Action' and 'Power' on the Receiver simultaneously for more than 2 seconds. The receiver momentarily shuts OFF, the come back On, tuned to channel '3' with a preset level of sound.  Any programmed channels, channels caption data and some other user defined settings will be erased.
  9. Press 'Power' on the remote control to display the serviceman adjustment modes menu, select adjustment by pressing Vol Right/Volume Left buttons and Channel Up/Channel Dn buttons on the remote control, and 'Action' to enter the mew adjustment data into memory.
TO CHECK PURITY
  • Press recall on the remote control when the 'Serviceman Mode' red check is displayed.  For each press  the screen will show [NORMAL SCREEN => WHITE SCREEN => RED SCREEN => GREEN SCREEN => BLUE SCREEN = BACK TO NORMAL SCREEN]
TOGGLE BETWEEN AGING AND SERVICEMAN MODES.
  • While 'CHK' is displayed on the top left corner of the CRT, pressing 'Action' & 'Vol-Up' on the TV simultaneously will toggle between the modes.  Red 'CHK' for serviceman and Yellow.
ENTERING SERVICEMAN MODE, BY OPENING THE SET
  • While receiver is connected and operating in Normal Mode, momentarily short test point [FA1] to Ground [A] board.
  • The receiver enters 'Aging' mode.  Yellow letters 'CHK' appear in the upper left corner of the screen. [The volume Up/Dn will adjust rapidly]
FOR ADJUSTMENTS
  1. Press "Ch Up/Ch Dn" & "Vol >/Vol<" on the remote control to select one of the available Service Adjustments.  Press 'Action" to enter the adjustment.  Press 'Action" AGAIN to go back to the adjustment menu.   [Note:  Write down the original value set for each address before modifying anything.  It is easy to erroneously adjust the wrong item.]
  2. Press "Right/Left" on the remote control to adjust the level of selected service adjustment.
